Building Science Consultant

Brittany Marlin is a Designer and Building Science Consultant at Certa Building Solutions, where she supports project teams in developing technical drawings, Revit models, and design documentation for building envelope projects. She brings a multidisciplinary background in interior design, historic preservation, and architectural documentation, with a strong interest in building performance and durable, well-crafted design.

Brittany earned an Associate of Applied Science in Interior Design from Portland Community College, where she developed a strong technical foundation in drafting, construction documentation, and building systems. She later pursued graduate studies in Historic Preservation at the University of Oregon, focusing on traditional building materials, wood science, masonry conservation, and the stewardship of historic structures.

Her preservation experience includes window restoration with the National Trust for Historic Preservation's Hands-On Preservation Experience (HOPE) Crew, as well as research and documentation projects with Restore Oregon. These experiences fostered a deep appreciation for how buildings age, perform, and can be thoughtfully maintained for future generations.

At Certa, Brittany is passionate about combining technical precision with thoughtful design to develop durable, high-performing buildings that stand the test of time.
