Mark Rose is the Founder and CEO of Certa Building Solutions with more than three decades of experience in construction, restoration, and forensic evaluation. His work centers on building enclosure performance, failure investigation, and major rehabilitation.

He began his career in the late 1990s in Vancouver, British Columbia, working in building restoration and enclosure failure investigations, gaining experience that shaped his practical, performance-driven approach to forensic analysis and building rehabilitation. In 2005, he established and led a building science practice in Portland, Oregon, expanding its reach across the Pacific Northwest and advancing performance-based enclosure strategies.

Since founding Certa in 2015, Mark has remained actively involved in projects and mentors staff in the field. He champions senior-level engagement and ensures teams deliver defensible technical judgment with a focus on long-term performance. He has been accepted as an expert witness in Oregon and Washington and works extensively on building enclosure and construction defect matters in Florida. Based in Florida, he emphasizes durable, technically and economically defensible solutions grounded in long-term performance.
